Miller's book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The exhibition, co-curated by Miller and the Costume Institute's Andrew Bolton, featured garments, artwork, and photographs that traced the evolution of Black men's style from the 18th century to the present.

Hosts and Honorees

The event was co-chaired by a distinguished group: Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as honorary chair. Their leadership underscored the gala's commitment to celebrating Black excellence in fashion and culture.

Dress Code: "Tailored for You"

Attendees were encouraged to interpret the dress code "Tailored for You" creatively, resulting in a diverse array of ensembles that paid homage to the theme. Exhibition Highlights

The accompanying exhibition, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," opened to the public on May 10 and will run through October 26, 2025. It offers a comprehensive look at Black dandyism, featuring works from emerging designers like Jacques Agbobly, whose inclusion marks a significant moment for representation in fashion.
